An office development with a capital value of £39 million looks set to create big contract opportunities for North Wales businesses.
The building – located in the centre of Colwyn Bay – will provide 100,000 square foot of office-space for up to 750 council workers.
The project is being led by Conwy County Council’s development partner Muse alongside its funding partner M&G, with Bowmer & Kirkland as lead contractor.
When it’s built, it’ll be one of the largest town centre office complexes in the region.
This is a big project. So the council’s developer and contractor will need all kinds of products, services and skills to build and equip the offices – creating potential supply chain opportunities for North Wales firms along the way.
A number of ‘meet the buyer’ events have already taken place, with more likely in 2017 – giving local firms the chance to learn more about potential contracts up for grabs.

The three partners will also be looking to boost skills in the construction industry by supporting apprenticeships and other training on-site.
Once operational, it’ll provide an important base for public services in Conwy and potentially the wider region. But the benefits will go deeper than that.
The impact of staff and visitors working out of the building is expected to be around £1 million of additional spending in Colwyn Bay town centre.
That’s a big boost for shops and businesses, and council leaders see it as an important factor in driving up footfall and supporting the high streets – which in turn may lead to private sector investment in the town.
Councillor Dilwyn Roberts, Leader of Conwy County Borough Council, said: “This new office building will not only help to streamline our office accommodation, but it’s also a key part of our regeneration programme in Colwyn Bay.
"Bringing people into the heart of a town brings vitality, footfall and spend.”
