The energy and environment sector.
It provides jobs. But it needs skills.
An infographic created by our Skills and Employment work-stream spells out the huge benefits the sector will bring to North Wales over the next decade. And the demand it will generate for workers with the right skills and attitude.
Take a peep...
One of the biggest energy sector drivers in North Wales is the Wylfa Newydd nuclear site - due for completion in 2025.
The development is expected to provide 8,500 jobs at the peak of its construction, creating demand for engineering, plumbing, electrical, bricklaying, technical and all kinds of other skills.
Once operational, the plant will provide around 1,000 jobs.
The project will also create opportunities for all sorts of businesses in North Wales, with contracts for services and supplies there to be won.
The Skills and Employment work-stream of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board is dedicated to supporting the growth of skills, training and job opportunities in the region.
