Earlier this month the first Business Growth North Wales conference took place at Pontio, Bangor, where guest speakers talked about the huge opportunities for business in the region.
Celia Williams, from CITB Wales, shined the spotlight on some major construction projects - as well as some of the construction businesses that call North Wales home.
Many of the companies featured in Celia’s presentation have grown successfully thanks to paying close attention to the skills available in the area.
Harnessing apprenticeships, graduate programmes and professional development, these businesses have managed to develop their workforce, deliver bigger projects, and grow their supply chains.
The presentation also took delegates on a whistle-stop tour around some of the biggest construction projects happening right now in North Wales - projects like HMP Berwyn, which is due to open in early 2017, Wylfa Newydd in Anglesey, and the Northern Gateway in Deeside.
All of these projects offer great potential for local businesses to be part of a supply chain - from bricklaying to landscaping to decorating. And these projects will transform the North Wales economy - not only now, but in years to come.
There’s also a range of support available for your business from CITB Wales and Construction Futures Wales, as well as training support from Coleg Cambria and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.
